Michael began his insurance career directly out of High School as a file clerk with a medium sized agency. While with this agency he met a gentleman who would become his mentor, Phil Sorkin. Depending on how the day is going Michael either credits or blames Phil! Within two years Michael had started training in commercial lines insurance. Michael brings a wealth of experience to Rick Gombar Insurance Services, Inc. and is responsible for automation, office management, webmaster as well as account management.

On a personal note:

Michael has been a part of Sea Scouting (a part of the Boy Scouts) since he was 14 and has been Skipper (Leader) of the Sea Scout Ship Albatross in Simi Valley since 1985. Michael is the principal operator of "Albatross" a 54' twin diesel vessel out of Channel Islands Harbor. Michael has received too many awards to list, however they include Quartermaster (Sea Scout's Eagle).

Michael is also the Chairman of Southwestern Rendezvous, which presents a competitive event for Sea Scouts aboard Naval Base Ventura County-Port Hueneme over the Thanksgiving weekend. Michael has been part of this event since 1980 and has never known the taste of leftover Thanksgiving turkey!
